Welcome to the home of Womble/Williams Double Reeds. Robert Williams, retired Principal Bassoonist of the Detroit Symphony, and his wife, Treva Womble, retired DSO Oboe/English hornist, founded Womble/Williams Double Reeds in 1984. We have over 90 years of professional experience between us and feel we are experts in the field of double reed instruments, tools, and cane. The first product produced was an English horn end pin to take the weight of the English horn off the performer’s right hand. We are an authorized Fox instrument dealer.
We are pleased to import all of Georg Rieger’s fine double-reed tools. We use diamond tooling for gouging, shaping, and profiling our WW bassoon cane in the shop and believe it to be the finest cane available for making consistent reeds for all levels of bassoonists! We also produce bassoon mandrels in our shop, and our bassoon reamers are the finest available.
